Create with a Gel Plate
Gel plates look and feel like gelatine, but are durable and reusable, and come in a range of sizes and shapes. They are used in conjunction with acrylic paints and a soft roller and are easy to clean. Gel printing plates are a lively and instant product to create mono prints with, the advantage that they don’t require a printing press. Each print is unique and this highly adaptable process invites experimentation. They can be seen as outcomes in their own right, or as starting points for further processes, such as paintings or a lino cut, can be used to create collage, used in journals, or as gift cards and tags. You’ll explore a range of techniques, including: layering, impressing and exploring masking with leaves and plants, leaving with numerous unique prints.

Sunday 30th June 2024, 10 – 12.30pm, 8 places, £35 per person, including: tuition, use of most pieces of equipment*, materials, plus tea and coffee. *Please bring along your gel plate, ideally 3 x 5 inches, 5 x 7 inches or 6 x 6 inches. They can be bought from: www.handprinted.co.uk
