Create unique Mono Prints

Dating back to the 1600’s, mono prints are unique one-off pieces of art. The process has been explored by numerous artists including Rembrandt, Edgar Degas, Matisse and Picasso. This flexible and often experimental process, combines drawing, printing and a more painterly approach, with a lovely spontaneity. The image is created by applying oil or water based inks to a metal or plastic plate using rollers or brushes, before images are transferred to paper by hand or by using a press.
Come along for a day of printmaking and explore single and multi layered mono prints, painted mono prints and a further experimental process, enabling you to create a range of outcomes that inspire you. There will be a particular focus on learning how to continue these techniques in the context of your home.
