April Workshops 2020
Due to the ongoing situation with COVID19, these workshops have sadly been postponed; as soon as it’s safe to run workshops again at The Slipper Studio, new dates will be advertised.
Inspired by Tiles
The stunning William de Morgan tiles at Birmingham City Art Gallery are the inspiration for this lino cutting and printing workshop. Choose an image from ornate insects, mythical beasts, floral images or wild animals and learn how to develop this into a design, and cut and print your own lino block. Beginners to the technique are likely to create a one colour print and explore collage techniques, whilst the more experienced printmaker will create a two colour print. Try printing by hand or run your block through my Gunning Etching Press.
Saturday 25th March, 10 – 4pm, for a maximum of 5 people, £65, including: materials, the use of equipment and refreshments; just bring lunch.
Kitchenalia – Observing the Ordinary using Line & Wire
If you are a keen cook you are sure to have a fine selection of whisks, fish slices and ladles and these will be our starting point for a day of lively and imaginative drawing; we will conclude the workshop by making beautiful fish and decorative utensils using a fine and flexible wire.
Sunday 26th April, 10 – 4pm, for a maximum of 5 people, £65, including: materials, use of equipment and refreshments; just bring lunch.
