Workshop at The Slipper Studio, Saturday 20th September 2025

Drawing for Absolute Beginners (and folks told that they aren’t good at Art ).
As a creative tutor, it’s not unusual for me to hear the comments “ I can’t draw” or “I’m rubbish at drawing”. Most people tend to be quite negative about their own ability and it’s pretty clear that many of us lack confidence in our ability to draw and record and feel frustrated by this.
Having confidence in your ability to draw and record well can be extremely helpful to makers, as drawing provides important structural elements that underpin many processes. It’s likely to enhance the quality of your outcomes and your creative experience and make your “inner teenager” happier.
We’ll cover what materials to use and how to use them and will draw from a range of primary and secondary sources, ie the real thing, plus photos/drawings of objects.
This workshop will suit makers who lack confidence in their ability to draw and wish to develop their skills, confidence and a joy for drawing.
Saturday 20th September , 10 – 4pm, with just 5 places, £95 per person, including: tuition, materials and use of equipment; just bring your lunch.
