Observing the Ordinary with Line & Wire – drawing and sculpture

 

This is a day to leave your rubber at home and throw yourself into direct drawing, exploring the shapes and patterns found in Kitchenalia.

With a particular focus on exploring line, we will experiment with a number of materials and processes, including fine wire, enabling you to create a range of intricate and playful outcomes.

This workshop will suit a range of abilities and creative experiences.

Tuesday 3rd March, 10 – 4pm, £80, including: materials, use of equipment and refreshments, plus a delicious lunch.

 

 

Create with a Gel Plate – Cancelled due to the COVID19 situation.

 

Gel printing plates are a lively and instant method for creating monoprints, with the advantage that they don’t require the use of a printing press. Each print is unique and this highly adaptable process invites experimentation.

Explore a range of gel plate techniques including layering, impressing, creating stencils and exploring masking techniques with leaves and flowers and leave with a range of unique monoprints.

This workshop will suit the creative beginner or those with some experience of different creative processes and techniques.

Please bring along your own Gelli Plate; 6 x 6 inch, 5 x 7 inch and 8 x 10 inch plates can be purchased from handprinted.co.uk.

Can you Cut the Mustard? Lino Cutting for Beginners & Rusty Printmakers.

Cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation.

 

Working from your chosen images, this one day workshop will introduce you to developing compositions suitable for lino work and guide you through transferring them to your lino, plus safe cutting and printing single colour outcomes. The more experienced printmaker may consider creating a two colour print.

This workshop will suit the beginner or those wishing to re introduce themselves to the process. There will be a particular focus on how you may continue developing your skills and ideas in the context of your home.
