Workshops at The Slipper Studio, April 2022

Birds on a Wire - create tiny wire sculptures

Fine and flexible wire is a lovely material to work with, enabling you to create characterful objects, with a drawn-like quality to them. Come along to The Slipper Studio and learn how to create a range of small and decorative pieces of sculpture, which will take pride of place in your home and be admired by many.

We will aim to create 3 beautiful outcomes, exploring joining techniques, wrapping, shaping and sculpting wire. Who wouldn’t want to make little birds on swings or in a cage?

This workshop will suit folks with experience of different creative processes and techniques.

Saturday 2nd April, 10 – 4pm, with just 3 places (to allow for social distancing), £79, including: tuition, materials and use of equipment; just bring your lunch.

Inspired by Bloomsbury - explore still life

A mixed bunch of flowers in a favourite vase or jug is a simple pleasure and one that cheers; add a favourite ornament or two and you have a beautiful still life. Numerous artists, such as Emma Dunbar, Debbie George, Emily Maudey and Jo Aylward, create images exploring the pattern, shape and colour of floral images. However, the Bloomsbury artists, including Vanessa Bell, Roger Fry and Duncan Grant, are the ultimate influencers of this relaxed, domestic imagery.

We will explore a range of exciting mixed media approaches, including collage, drawing and painting.

This workshop is suitable for those with a range of creative experiences, looking to explore their collage, drawing and painting skills.

Saturday 9th April, 10 – 4pm, with just 3 places (to allow for social distancing), £79, including: tuition, materials and use of equipment; just bring your lunch.
