Christmas inspired Workshops at The Slipper Studio, November 2021
Blind Embossing – Lino printing without inks
Blind embossing is an interesting creative technique. It uses the skills and materials associated with lino cutting, but without any of the mess generated when inking a lino block. A lino block, plus dampened paper is rolled through a press, with lots of pressure applied. The outcome is subtle, but very satisfying, with the raised lines, shapes and patterns created when the areas of lino are cut away. Perhaps you might like to add a little festive twist to your designs?
