Lino Cutting for Beginners & Rusty Printmakers

 

Working from an image of your choice, this one day workshop will introduce you to one colour lino cutting and printing. This is the perfect introduction for the first time printmaker and a great reminder for anyone who hasn’t picked up a cutter for a while.

Turner’s Art Studio, Matlock, DE4 5EX, Tuesday 20th October, 10 – 4pm, 5 places available to allow for social distancing, £55, including: the use of equipment, most materials, tea and coffee.

Please bring along: your own cutters if you have them, a tub of black and white block printing inks – Ocaldo, 300ml or Daler Rowney, 250ml, an old soup/dessert spoon, an old dinner knife or small palette knife, a pencil case with pencils, a rubber, sharpener, biro, masking tape, a sheet of A4 tracing paper, baby wipes and your lunch.

Create with a Gel Plate – mono printing without a Press

Gel printing plates provide a lively and instant method of mon printing. I will guide you through a range of techniques, including: layering, impressing, creating stencils and exploring masking techniques. You will leave with a surprisingly large range of unique prints. The workshop will suit the creative beginner and anyone looking to explore a new creative process.

Turner’s Art Studio, Matlock, DE4 5EX, Tuesday 27th October, 10 – 4pm, 5 places to allow for social distancing, £55, including: the use of most pieces of equipment*, some materials, tea and coffee.

Please bring along: your gel plate*, at least 6 tubes of assorted colours of acrylic paints, including white and black or dark blue – old/cheap if possible, a sheet of clear A4 acetate, a pencil case with pencils, a biro, a Sharpie type pen, a small craft knife, masking tape, baby wipes and your lunch.

Gel Plates come in a range of sizes and shapes; try a square or rectangle, either 6 x 6 inches, 5 x 7 inches or 8 x 10 inches.
